Buena Park, California, USA – April 2024 – Almex USA Inc. has successfully commissioned a complete Aluminum Billet Casting Line for Aerospace Alloys for Universal Alloy Corporation Europe’s new plant in Satu Mare, Romania.
Almex’s scope of supply includes EXCELTM Billet Tooling System, patented 3 Chamber LARS® Degassing System, FILTREXTM Ceramic Foam Filtration System, MEGATM DC Casting Machine, Water Management System and peripheral casting line equipment. The casting line is outfitted with CASTRIGHT® III Automation and SCADA system, and it integrates all the equipment allowing seamless control of the casting operation.
In addition to the casting line equipment, Almex’s scope of supply includes Technology supply, installation supervision and complete training on equipment and process. Almex commissioning specialists conducted commissioning in a variety of aerospace alloys in the casting campaign.
LARS®, Almex’s flagship product and one of the world’s leading degassing systems reported the following Hydrogen levels as recorded by ABB AlSCANTM.
This investment will help UACE expand their offerings and bolster their presence as a world leader in the aerospace extrusions industry.
