Position Requirements
Almex USA, Inc. is seeking Computer Programmers for its Buena Park, CA location. The individuals will be creating and modifying computer programs designed for industrial computer automation and data storage, and will be implemented into clients’ required casting systems. Individuals will apply advanced knowledge of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering theories and principles, and will use standard occupation tools to perform the following job duties:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Write, update and review coding and scripts to ensure that computer programming will work in tandem with field automation components like PLCs, analyzers, scopes and meters.
- Consult with clients and assist developers to implement changes, support and maintain the programs for their duration.
- Analyze current programming to determine upgrades and modifications needed to support and maintain the programs.
- Write, review and rewrite programming for touch-screen panels in VB6/VB.NET to ensure programs work in congruence with MySQL databases and PLCs (AB and Siemens).
- Monitor and ensure correct control system functioning and processing.
- Assist with installation of the equipment throughout the startup phase.
- Train the customer and his personnel for correct handling of the programs.
This position does not supervise any personnel, nor does it involve any software development or project management. May perform additional tasks normal to this occupation, as assigned.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any related Engineering major that provided the required knowledge and abilities, plus one (1) year of experience in any position providing the required skills and abilities. Individual must have demonstrable proficiency and experience with the following: Embedded C Assembly (ARM, X86, 8051); Understanding of microprocessors and microcontrollers; Real-Time Embedded Systems; Digital multi-meters and related lab testing instruments.
